LIFE BEGINS WITH LIGHT
Science is a tremendous tool to confirm what God’s word has already told us. A few weeks ago the scientific community has discovered that at the exact moment of conception (the sperm encounters the egg), there is a spectacular event that appears to be a cosmological explosion - described as “breath-taking.”
I realize that any “news” after a few weeks is old news; but some “news” is worth reviewing and reminding humanity (us) of this extraordinary conception and the power that exists in this profound discovery.
A burst of light, as is unveiled at a microscopic level at precisely that instant when the soul of a human is created in the image of God! What a wonder, what an amazing discovery of extraordinary truth.
The Bible describes in the genesis account at the creation of the universe.
“God said, let there be light.”
ATTRIBUTE OF GOD
What a powerful force of God’s word, light at 186,000 miles PER SECOND
suddenly coming out of His mouth at the creation of the universe. What a cosmological event!
One of the essential attributes of God - is light. It’s His nature. It doesn’t say He has light, it says He is light.
“God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.”
I John 1:5
God when conceiving humanity said,
“Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness… So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
MADE IN HIS LIKENESS
Making us in “His likeness” is:
in like nature, similar to, resembling, similitude, the quality of state. Our nature according to God’s word is we are made in His image. We are made in light.
Physics tell us that we are made in light as seen at conception; AND, it is also true, that in the spiritual dimension, we were created in light, to be a light, and to shine forth the light to the world of the glory of our Father in heaven.
Jesus said to those who were listening to His sermon on the mount in chapter 5 of Matthew,
“You are the light of the world…
let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Jesus also says of Himself
“I am the Light of the world.”
Also, we get a glimpse of the physical attributes of Christ Jesus after his resurrection and glorification; when Paul encounters Him on the road to Damascus and reveals Himself in this massive incandescent light - blinding Paul for a short time.
We see the birthing of the soul of man and the birthing of the spirit of man - both created in the image of God.
The question of “When does life begin” is now confirmed, at the moment of impregnation. In that split second the soul is made alive, God’s likeness is bursting forth in illumination and resplendent beauty over His precious loved one.
And when we believe in Jesus, our spirit is made alive and we are living breathing spiritual men and women - born into the kingdom of God.
